Haydn Symphony 84

Haydn's Symphony 84 is one of the six symphonies that Haydn composed for the city of Paris during the 1780s. Commissioned by the Concert de la Loge Olympique, and conducted by Joseph Bologne, Chevalier de Saint-Georges, Haydn's "Paris" Symphonies were a massive success with the Parisian audiences.

Haydn's Symphony 84 was specifically designed to appeal to Parisian tastes by featuring wind instrument timbres and small group cadenzas in the sinfonia concertante style that was very popular in the French music of the time.
