Haydn Symphony 83

Haydn's Symphony 83 is the second of six symphonies that Haydn composed for the  Concert de la Loge Olympique in Paris, France. These six symphonies (82-87) are collectively known as the Paris Symphonies and were a smash success with the Parisian audiences.

The Paris Symphonies were premiered at the Salle des Gardes du Corps of the Tuileries which sadly no longer exists.
Haydn's Symphony 83 is nicknamed "The Hen" because of the sections of music in the first movement that resemble the clucking of hens.
