Beethoven Piano Concerto 2

Beethoven's Piano Concerto 2 was premiered in 1795 at the Bergtheater in Vienna. This performance was Beethoven's public debut in Vienna as a pianist and composer.

Even though this composition is listed as number 2, it was in fact composed prior to the piano concerto now labeled as number 1. The reverse numbering reflects the order in which the concertos were published as opposed to when they were composed. As such, Beethoven's Piano Concerto 2 is his earliest such work and most adheres to the musical styles of the Classical Period.
