Mozart Piano Concerto 24

During the Classical Period, the pianoforte replaced the harpsichord as the primary keyboard instrument.

Mozart composed a total of 27 piano concertos (the latter 17 while in Vienna). These concertos were a major source of Mozart's income as they were part of the composer's subscription concerts in Vienna where he would also perform as soloist.

Premiered in Vienna during the 1786 season, Mozart's Piano Concerto 24 is arguably his greatest. It features the largest orchestra for any of his piano concertos, is one of only two piano concertos he wrote in a minor key, and was a favorite of both Beethoven and Brahms.
