Mozart Piano Concerto 18

Mozart composed his Piano Concerto 18 for the 1784 season. It is possible the concerto was composed for Austrian musician and composer Maria Theresia von Paradis, a close friend of Mozart who was sightless by the age of five.

Mozart composed two cadenzas for the first movement which is in Double Exposition form. The second movement contains a lovely flute solo and is only one of three piano concerti by Mozart whose middle movement is in Variations form. The third movement is a modified Sonata Rondo.
