Mozart Symphony 29

Mozart composed Symphony 29 in 1774 at the age of 18 during his years of employment at the Salzburg court before his journey to Paris three years later. In addition to Symphony 29, Mozart's first masterworks were composed during this period and included his five violin concerti, the Piano Concerto 9, and the Symphony 25.

Symphony 29 has three of its four movements in sonata form. The mood of the symphony overall is sunny and joyous. The 3rd movement Minuet and Trio is particularly noteworthy in that it contains many irregular phrase lengths and extensions intended to throw off the dance feel of the Minuet.
