Beethoven Statue

The Beethoven Monument is located in Vienna's 1st District at the Beethovenplatz. Built in 1880, the bronze statue depicts the composer seated on a multi-level pedestal.

At the base of the monument are nine putti representing Beethoven's nine symphonies. The mythological Greek titan Prometheus and the Roman goddess Victoria are portrayed on either side of the pedestal.
