Haydn Blue Plaque

Haydn had two residencies in London (1791 and 1794) where he composed his final 12 symphonies (numbers 93-104).

18 GREAT PULTENEY STREET TODAY

During his first stay in 1791, Haydn lodged in a housing site at 18 Great Pulteney Street just north of Piccadilly Circus. This was also the residence of Johann Peter Salomon, the musician who brought Haydn to London. The building at 18 Great Pulteney Street today is not the original, however, a blue plaque commemorates the location.
