Mozart's Residence

In 1773, the Mozart family moved from their previous apartment (Mozart's Birthplace) to a larger set of rooms in a building now known as the Mozart Residence. The Mozart family occupied this set of rooms until Leopold Mozart's death in 1787 (by which time Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart had already moved to Vienna).

THE MOZART RESIDENCE

Today, the Mozart Residence is a museum containing may artifacts from the Mozart family including several keyboard instruments such as harpsichords and fortepianos.

The Mozart Residence has many visitors but it usually not quite as crowded as Mozart's Birth House and a well-planned visit is extremely rewarding.
